2019 IACMR Officer/Governor Nomination

According to the Constitution and Bylaws of IACMR, the following IACMR officers will be elected in 2019. The elected officers will serve for the period of July 2019-June 2022. They will start their service from July 2019, as non-voting members observers on the board.

-Vice President/Program Chair 2022, and
-Four Representatives-at-Large (the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Chinese Mainland); and
-Two Ph.D. student representatives (one from the Chinese Mainland and one from an overseas university; non-voting member of the board).

Please note that only active fee-paying full members of IACMR are qualified to make nominations and participate in the voting (please visit the "Join Us" page at the IACMR website for the information about how to become a fee-paying member). If you have any questions or problems in the process, please write to iacmrmembership@pku.edu.cn.

 

For nominations please refer to the job descriptions of the positions below. When you nominate a candidate, please keep in mind that IACMR mission is to advance “the science, education and practice” of Chinese management, and our core values are “Pursuit of Excellence, Source of Inspiration, Responsible Scholarship and Spirit of Service”. Please note you may nominate a maximum of two candidates for each position and may skip any position(s) if you don't have appropriate candidates to nominate. Duties of new officers/governors to be elected:

Program Chair and Vice-President

The incumbent of this position will serve as Program Chair for the 2022 biennial conference and as Vice President of the Association. The duties of the Program Chair include forming a program committee, preparing a Call for Papers for the 2022 conference, managing paper reviews, working out the conference program and responsible for selection of the best papers for the conference. This person will become the President Elect after the 2022 conference and advance to be the President of IACMR in 2024.

 

Representatives-at-Large

The Representatives-at-Large represent the interests of the membership at large, and perform the duties as listed below. There shall be no more than one Rep-at-Large from each of the four broad regions of: the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, and Chinese mainland. Each of the Rep-at-Large will serve a term of 3 years with the first year as the “Incoming Rep-at-Large” and “Rep-at-Large” in the second and third year.

 

The duties of the Reps-at-Large include the following: introducing IACMR to potential members, assisting the Program Chair and serving as track chairs at the 2022 conference (subject to Program Chair's designation) and identifying the needs of members in their respective regions, and assisting the President with special projects as they arise.

 

PhD Student Representatives

There are two Ph.D. student representatives. One should be based in mainland China and one from outside of mainland China. The Ph.D. student reps are non-voting positions. They should represent the views of Ph.D. students in discussions regarding IACMR activities and policies. The student reps should introduce IACMR to fellow Ph.D. students and get them actively involved in IACMR. They should also help to implement other membership services. Preference is given to candidates of the 2nd- or 3rd-year Ph.D. students.
